Aruba's Integrity Bureau will be soon be a reality

The commission for integrity, in collaboration with the Government of Aruba, is working hard to reach the set goals with respect to integrity. Mrs. Amalin Flanegin is in charge of the coordination and the establishment of the Bureau, including personnel and corresponding procedures.

The main objectives of the Integrity Bureau are: screening of important decisions made by Government officials, and enforcing the political campaign sponsoring law, obligating all politicians to publish the list of sponsors and to register all received donations.

There will also be changes in the public tender law. The current law has a lot of room for interpretation. The changes it will make this law more straight-forward, the rules will be very clear and strict. Once this is completed other laws will follow. The integrity rules will not only apply to Government officials and public sector workers, but to all state owned companies. The establishment of the Integrity Bureau is going as planned and soon the job vacancies will be published.
