Prime Minister Visited Atelier’s Expo ‘GOD’S ARTISTS IN TIMES OF COVID’

During COVID, Aruba showcases its creative force

The Prime Minister was present for the inauguration of God’s Artists In Times of COVID Expo by Atelier. Representing her colleague Minister Xiomara Maduro, Prime Minister thanked Mrs. Elvis Lopez and Atelier for the invitation. The expo was a very special event, during which the creativity of local artists were displayed.

During her speech at the inauguration, she expressed, “COVID brought on a lot of challenges since March 2020. Citizens of our country were forced to adapt and sacrifice, each of us in our own way. But nonetheless, COVID forced us all to be more creative as well. As a country, artist or not, we all showed our creative abilities. We encountered new ways to deal with challenges and limitations that the pandemic forced upon us.”

She continued by expressing how proud she felt about the way the Aruban community managed the pandemic. The pandemic influenced the creativity of our community and how this gave her joy. Art and culture are both an important part of our current government and they’ll be an even bigger part in the next.

Finalizing her speech, the Prime Minister thanked all the participants for believing in themselves, their creativity, and also in Aruba. She also thanked Atelier, for organizing this initiative and for being an active partner of the Government in helping promote art and culture.

“Please, don’t stop painting, don’t stop creating. We need it. Our Future generation needs our creativity”. Evelyn Wever-Croes, Aruba Prime Minister
