Prime Minister is honored with the title “Doctor in Medicine Honoris Causa” from Xavier University School of Medicine

Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes, the first Female Prime Minister of Aruba, demonstrated that she could make our country resilient once again. She took on leadership of our country in  challenging times and she continued to lead with perseverance during the most challenging times in world history. Confronted with many financial and social challenges as she assumed the position of Prime Minister she was faced with yet another challenge, a never before seen pandemic, which allowed her to demonstrate her love and capacity to lead our country in a global crisis.

A female, a mother, and a mother for the people whose heart is in the right place, for the well-being of our country Aruba. A woman admirable for her patience and determination to guide our country into full recovery. Aruba lived through every moment of the pandemic with our Prime Minister appearing on their screens, not only announcing the unpopular information, but even more for providing tranquility in hearts of the big and small in a time where most people were discouraged from the situation that Aruba and the world has been going through due to COVID-19.

For this reason on Saturday, August 14th, 2021 our Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes, was honored with the title “Doctor in Medicine Honoris Causa” from Xavier University School of Medicine. The University gave her recognition for her leadership of our country and all the challenging work she was confronted with during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I accepted this honor in the name of our Government and the Crisis Team because it was teamwork that made it all happen and without the team, our country wouldn’t be where it’s at.”

The Government of Aruba congratulates our Prime Minister on her new title and extends gratitude to Xavier University School of Medicine for this honor.
