Prime minister Evelyn Wever Croes attended “All hands-on desk” CAS-BES summit in Curacao

An important summit took place in Curacao on August 20th, 2018 regarding the necessary improvements and collaboration between Aruba and Curacao in times of calamity.

Prime Minister of Sint Maarten, Curacao, and Aruba deliberated on how to better the cooperation between the countries in moments of calamity, considering the situation in Sint Maarten after hurricane Irma in 2017 and the lessons learned during that natural disaster.

At the start of the meeting, the Prime Ministers of Aruba, Curacao and St. Maarten expressed their willingness to help each other in these cases. On behalf of the Government of Aruba, Prime Minister Wever-Croes, affirmed that Aruba will always be ready to help its sister islands, despite Aruba having its own challenges.

The Aruba delegation consisted of Prime Minister of Aruba, Evelyn Wever-Croes, Head of Crisis Management Department of Aruba, Rino Hermans and the Chief of the Fire Department of Aruba, Eduard de Cuba.
