Crossing for Hope

On November 11th,  five swimmers, Stephan Thijsen, Davy Bislick, Wendy Kock, Deaxo Croes and Romar Arendsz set off on a journey to swim across the Caribbean Sea to raise awareness for a great cause. As part of their Crossing for Hope campaign, they swam approximately 30 kilometers from the coast of Venezuela to Aruba to raise funds for cancer patients and survivors through the Queen Wilhelmina Cancer Fund (Koningin Wilhelmina Fonds-KWF). This foundation is committed to assisting patients suffering from cancer in Aruba. With the funds raised during this remarkable swim event, KWF will work on different projects, among others, cancer prevention programs. Citizens of Aruba united in prayer and pride to watch these 5 brave swimmers accomplish this great feat. Last week, The Prime Minister of Aruba, Evelyn Wever-Croes, and other members of Cabinet honored these 5 heroes for this great accomplishment and expressed their admiration. They are proof that by believing in yourself, and being passionate and determined, you can achieve anything.
