certificates given to over 39 participants of the Caribe Wave 2018

Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes had the pleasure of handing over 39 certificates to participants from governmental and non governmental organizations participating the Caribe Wave 2018 tsunami drill earlier this year on International Tsunami Awareness Day. Disaster awareness and preparedness is an important goal to meet in these challenging times of climate change. This year’s exercise simulated a 7.6 magnitude earthquake in the Mona Passage just west of Puerto Rico. This was an excellent opportunity for the parties involved to test earthquake, tsunami and evacuation procedures.

I am happy and proud to be part of this event. Thank you for taking this mission seriously. Please help us share the word so that we can welcome more organizations to the Caribe Wave 2019 drill in March 2019” – Prime Minister of Aruba
