Aruba Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes attended the Caribbean OCT’s Resilience Summit 2018

Aruba Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes attended the Caribbean OCT’s Resilience Summit 2018 in Sint-Maarten with the theme “Unite Prepare Adapt”.

The Summit was the start of a Program on Resilience, Sustainable Energy and Marine Biodiversity in our region. The Summit evolved around the topics Unite, Prepare and Adapt, which were presented by knowledgeable speakers and followed by panel discussions with experts in field such as Regional Cooperation, Climate Change, Disaster Preparedness and Resilience. These topics focused on the future of the Caribbean region. At the summit, Aruba together with the 11 OCT’s signed the agreement of the 11th EDF Caribbean Regional Programme with a total of €40 million to be distributed among the 12 OCT countries. The funds will be used on (1) energy efficiency, (2) marine bio-diversity and (3) disaster prevention and preparedness. Creating resilience to assure the path to progress and prosperity for all Aruban citizens.
