Successful Opening of the Aruba Financial Education Week

Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes together with colleagues Minister of Finance Xiomara Ruiz-Maduro and Minister of Education Rudy Lampe were present at the opening of the Aruba Financial Education Week in San Nicolas. As part of the Global Money Week platform, The Central Bank of Aruba in collaboration with Futura, the government innovation lab, and financial and non-financial stakeholders, hosted the Aruba Financial Education Week. Financial Education Week is a week-long educational program dedicated to stimulating financial awareness and abilities amongst more than 1000 kids (ages 9-12) from different schools in Aruba. The students got the chance to explore the Mo-B Lab, experience the art of sustainable ’Making’ as it happens, and learn innovative ways to manage their finances. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of teaching our children skills to be successful in the changing world, and thanked the Central Bank and all partners for making this important event possible.

Futura Lab, the Prime Minister’s innovation department, is also a partner in the Aruba Financial Education Week. They are proud to be part of this very important financial awareness campaign where 800 students learn the importance of making money, spending money, investing money and giving back to the community.
